Hi Peter

Something a little different today, and it's only for those of you living in EU/EEA countries.

If you work online, chances are you have the same problem that I've had since the turn of the century (boy that makes me sound old).

I have worked online for over 15 years. During that time, I've lived in Spain and needed first pesetas, then euros to live on. However, I do also need to have money in pounds sterling for UK stuff. The problem is that most of my income is in dollars. One thing that has never changed in those 15 years is the high costs of converting money from one currency to another. Banks everywhere take out transaction fees, and then even more by using exchange rate margins. On a 2,000 euro exchange, I could lose 100 euros to the banks. Well not any more. I've started using a service called CurrencyFair. It's a peer-to-peer service that just makes sense. e.g. If I have 2,000 euros and want that exchanged to sterling, and there is another person with pounds sterling but want euros, we can simply swap close to the current interbank rate. No currency margins and no transaction fees. Well there is a fee, but it is small (around 3 euros) and
you can actually get your first transfer without paying that fee. To find out about this service and to claim a free transfer, watch my video here:

http://ezseonews.com/review/currencyfair-reviewcheap-currency-exchange/

The video contains full details on how this works, and shows you a real example from my own account. You can see that this really is a lot better than going through a bank.

If you use a similar service, or have comments on my video, please leave a comment on that page.

That's all for now. Have a great weekend!

All the best

Andy Williams

Pull Ahead! Overcoming Page Speed Issues: An SEO Overview
Author: Aaron Landerkin and Virginia Nussey

Speed wins on the web. A faster loading page gets plus points when Google and Bing are ranking it, and website visitors have a better experience So, SEOs use tools that help them find ways to optimize page load time, like GTMetrix, Google PageSpeed Insights and YSlow.

But have you ever wondered why recommendations are made to defer JavaScript parsing, reduce cookie size, or leverage browser caching? Our Director of Software Development Aaron Landerkin recently presented page speed issues and why they happen. Read why Aaron advocates a different approach to page load time SEO, with recommendations like:

  • Don't think of page speed improvements as related to content, CSS, JavaScript, or the server.
  • Instead, think about where in the pipeline a speed bump occurs.
  • Understand the three page speed optimization categories: cache, bandwidth, and processing/rendering.

Hi Peter

Over the last few years, my focus has changed a lot with my online business. In the early days it was all SEO and affiliate websites, and that moved into other areas like software, Kindle publishing and online teaching in recent years. As a result, my newsletters have also changed focus somewhat. From some of the comments I get in my inbox, I think a lot of people miss the good old days.

If you miss all of the excitement of building affiliate sites and seeing that passive income coming in every month, do not despair. I have some good news. My latest course on Udemy is all about building affiliate websites (the way I build them). Yes, I do still actively build affiliate sites, and yes, they do bring in a good passive income every month. I am a great believer in diversifying your online business, and affiliate websites remain a big part of my business. And the best part of all? I don't worry about Google penalties. In the last 3 years of building sites (the new way), I have not had a single affiliate site penalized or lose rankings in Google.

Let me be honest here. I have had one or two sites that haven't quite matched my expectations, but that was down to me, not Google.

If you want to learn how to build affiliate sites that can make passive income, and NOT have to worry about Google banning you, then my new course is right for you. It is called "Learn how to Create High Quality Affiliate Websites", and it's a course that let's you watch over my should as I build a real site. This isn't a throwaway site that I'll not just leave to rot. I still have work to do on it, and I have high hopes that it will succeed.

The course itself, while complete as it currently stands, is not the finished article (it currently contains 51 lectures with 6 hours of video). I do have more content to add to the course, so it will grow over the coming months. As I make changes to my site, I'll be recording everything to include in the course. That way you can watch as my site evolves and hopefully blossoms into a nice little earner.

If this interests you, you can get the course for 50% off (just $10). This isn't a time limited offer, so there is no bonus for buying early. I offer my newsletter and site readers 50% off all of my courses. You can find the new course, and all of my other courses here:

http://ezseonews.com/coupon-codes-for-all-of-my-udemy-courses/

The new course is the first one in the list.

That's all for now. Have a great weekend!

All the best

Andy Williams

In this issue:

1. 2 days left!! My Udemy Courses for $8

2. SEO Updates

Hi Peter

In this newsletter, I want to briefly remind you about the price increases on Udemy courses that come into effect on the 4th April (that's less than 2 days from now). I also wanted to point our some required viewing/reading for anyone interested in SEO and ranking on Google.

1. My Udemy Courses for $8

On April 4th, Udemy are capping course coupons to a maximum of 50% of the course price.

However, until that time, I am going to offer ALL of my own courses for just $8. That's a price that won't be matched again unless Udemy change the rules again. To see what courses I have, and get the links, please visit this page:

http://ezseonews.com/coupon-codes-for-all-of-my-udemy-courses/

BTW; There is a new course on that list - Easy English Grammar 101. It's a course I helped to produce, though I am not the main instructor (thankfully, since my own grammar is not great). The main instructor is Andii, who happens to be my own proof-reader and editor for Kindle books I write. If you want to improve your English grammar, check out that course - it is at the end of the page.

2. SEO Updates

If you are interested in knowing what Google are up to, I have a few links you should check out.
Firstly, you can watch the Google Q&A for March. Lots of interesting information in that video about how Google works, and ranks pages. You can watch the hour long video here:

https://youtu.be/l8VnZCcl9J4

The video covers some interesting information about Google ranking factors, including the top three factors that help pages rank.

If you are interested in the new Google Penguin, what it is, when it's coming and how it could impact your site, I recommend you read Gary Illyes article called "Google's Gary Illyes on Penguin: When Is It Coming and What Will It Do?". You can find that article here:

https://www.stonetemple.com/googles-gary-illyes-on-penguin-when-is-it-coming-and-what-will-it-do/

Finally, my pick of the week as a must read is an article called "16 SEO Experiments That Will Change The Way You Think About SEO (Forever)". This was published on 8th March 2016, so is up-to-date, and it looks at a number of SEO experiments, some with quite surprising results. Check out that article here:

http://seosherpa.com/seo-experiments/

A lot of the experiments in this article will surprise you, and help you create better web pages on better web sites.

OK, that's it for now.

Have a great week!

Andy Williams
