Do you use Yoast SEO on your Wordpress sites? I do - it's usually the first plugin I install. But did you know that one of the main features of this plugin may get your pages penalized? Also, a quick update. As you probably know, I am creating courses on Udemy. One of those courses is all about how you can become an instructor on Udemy to make a recurring, passive income. 1. Lessons learnt from Windows 10 Upgrade
Back in August I wrote an article on Windows 10 and why I would wait several months before upgrading. Well, the decision was kind of taken out of my hands, and I upgraded. I wrote an article on my site that explains the problems I had, and the lessons learnt. It also includes details of a major Windows 10 bug that is most "heavy" Windows users. 2. Kindle authors - get guaranteed sales
I recently saw a service that offered guaranteed sales of Kindle books so decided to test it. There are a few requirements if you want to use this service. The sales you pay for work out at $1 per sale, and you do need to have your book on special at 99 cents. That means you are actually making a loss. However, as most Kindle authors know, the boost in sales will increase your visibility on Amazon in the search results. While the service apparently works better for fiction than non-fiction, I decided to try out my own "Wordpress for Beginners" kindle book. I bought "100 sales" for $100. The service actually generated 62 sales for me over 2 days, which took my Best Sellers Rank from 45,000 ish, to around 7,500. Sales were increased for several days after the promotion. Oh, and the remaining 38 sales they did not deliver were refunded to me, so I only paid for the sales generated.

I found their service professional, courteous, and the refund was delivered promptly and without any problem.
3. Review copy of SEO 2016?

I am not expecting the reviews to be done until you've gone through the book, so up to two weeks is fine. To qualify for a review copy, you MUST have reviewed either one of my books on Amazon, OR one of my Udemy courses on Udemy. I read a good (and up-to-date) article this week on the power of internal linking as an SEO strategy. It's over on the Search Engine Watch website here:

I found this article very interesting and something I recommend you read if you own a website.
A while ago, I wrote an article on my site that explained how internal links on a site were powerful ranking factors. In fact, I took some pages on my site that ranked lower than 100 in the SERPs, and some didn't rank at all, right up to the top 20 with nothing but internal links. You can read that article here:

Today, internal links remain a major part of my own SEO strategy, and it should be part of yours too. I highly recommend you read that Search Engine Watch article.
Secondly, you may have heard that Call To Action Pro v2 has just been released. I've spent a few days playing with it and really like it, and there is some great news. If you bought version 1, version 2 is a free update!
The original version of this Wordpress plugin was certainly in my top 3 Worpdress plugins from 2014. It allowed me to use a simply drag & drop interface to create eye-catching titles, calls to actions and more, without any technical knowledge. You have probably seen these animations on my ezSEONews site. Well they were created with version 1 of Call to Action Pro. I've recorded a video showing the new version in action, and you can watch it here:
