It has actually been months since I last emailed you, and I do apologize for not being around much. I do hope that I will find time soon to get back to a regular newsletter. Life often gets in the way of the things you love to do, and writing this newsletter has always been something I looked forward to.
In November last year I went through a house move for the second time in under two years. How stressful is moving house?
The first move was in June 2016, when a lifetime of junk was moved from Tenerife (Spain) to Colwyn Bay (North Wales) where we set up home. The junk went through a lot of filtering during that first move, and we left a huge amount of stuff behind. We still had a massive container of belongings that needed to be packed at one end, and unpacked at the other. Then in November 2017, we moved again. Hopefully for the last time in a long while. It took several van loads and two days to move boxes to the new house, which is also in Colwyn Bay. It then took weeks to find homes for everything inside those boxes. We actually have a cupboard of things that have not yet found their place in our new home. I'd love to just throw the stuff away, I mean we don't need any of it.
Anyway, the reason I am writing now is to let you know that for today only, you can get my Wordpress for Beginners 2018 Kindle book for free on Amazon. Just go to Amazon and search for Wordpress. You should find the book easily enough as it has the usual strips of colour on the cover. The Kindle version is free today, but make sure you are looking at the 2018 version of the book, as there are older versions with earlier years on the covers. Also make sure you are looking at the Kindle version, as there is a paperback. THen, to get the book, all you need to do is click the "Buy" button. The price in that buy box will be 0.00 so you won't be charged. If it is not 0.00, contact Amazon and ask why not. This deal ends at midnight tonight.
If yo do get it, I would really appreciate an honest review of the book on Amazon.

My second reason for writing today is to talk briefly about a password manager that I have been using for years. If you are not using a password manager to remember all of your logins, chances are the passwords you are using are not secure enough. If you are using a tool, but are unhappy with it, read on. I was unhappy with the one I had been using for years (Roboform), but found a great alternative.
I bought licenses for Roboform for all of my computers several years ago and have used it happily until the last few months. Towards the end of last year, I got notifications about an update, so I updated. Unfortunately, during the update, all of my user data was upgraded, meaning no way to revert to the earlier version again. During the update, my licenses were all effectively cancelled, and I was running the free version, with constant nags about upgrading to a paid version. OK, it is probably my fault for not reading the small print, but I think the way Roboform went about this was underhand.
I spent weeks downloading and testing alternative password managers. Most were nowhere near as good as Roboform, and I thought I was going to have to pay an annual fee to keep using what was my tool of choice. However, I happened to come across one tool that works in much the same way as I do (and as Roboform does). I was even more lucky as I was able to pick up a lifetime, multi-device license, on special. THe license lets me use the software on multiple computers, tablets, etc.
The password manager is called Sticky Password. You can download a free version to try it out, and that may be all you need. You can find it by searching Google if you are interested. I am not an affiliate for the software, but I do highly recommend it.
