Firstly I wanted to apologize that the Antivirus poll I sent out the other day was not working. I think it was clashing with another plugin on my site and although it worked in my testing, it probably only did so because I was logged into my Dashboard at the time. I have tried to fix this and I think it is now working if you want to try again.

OK, onto a couple of other things.

Whenever I set up a website, I always create a dedicated Facebook page and Twitter profile for that website. It's just part of my overall promotional strategy. For the last few years I have used a service called Hootsuite for my social posting, but that is a subscription service. Today I found out about a Worpdress plugin that is a one time payment and promises to replace Hootsuite in my own marketing. I bought it and tried it out and you can watch me set up some scheduled posts on one of my own sites in the video here:

After sending out the announcement about the new tutorials I uploaded on Explaindio, I got a few emails asking me about two things in particular:

1. The Mascot.ly product for creating avatars / mascots for video creation tools like Explaindio and Video Maker FX. I recorded a short video on Mascot.ly and added it to the Explaindio tutorials page here:

2. The second question referred to a "banner" I have on that page, under my post. The banner actually attracted two different questions. The first question I got about this banner was what tool I had used to create it. I am sure many of you already know the answer is Call to Action Pro (my favourite Wordpress plugin of 2014). The final question I got was related to my Wordpress for Beginners course advertised in that banner. People were interested to know how it differed from my Wordpress for Beginners book. Well, both cover the same material. The main difference is the media format. My Udemy course is video based so you get to watch "over my shoulder" as I show students how to set up and use Wordpress. A new addition to that course which started this month is a complete tutorial on building a real affiliate site. The first of those tutorials was added the other day, and in fact, you can preview that tutorial without buying the course.
